DMG's Transform methodology is:
Data Management Group applies its Transform Methodology™ to projects to facilitate the business intelligence development process. Each project is designed around our basic methodology as this allows each client total flexibility within their project(s) so that they may complete the entire cycle a single time, build upon the cycle using a versioning method, or complete portions of the cycle. Our methodology gives clients a repeatable, proven framework to ensure success of their business intelligence initiatives.
There are four phases within the methodology: Identify, Assess, Develop and Implement. Each phase produces deliverables required by the next phase in the cycle. Identify translates into assessing the requirements. Assessment translates into designing and developing. Implementation is the final stage in which the deliverable is placed into production.
The Identify Phase consists of uncovering the areas of opportunity for the client and developing a project scope. That scope can take on several forms: a Proof of Concept, Blue Print or Statement of Work.
The Assessment Phase is where business requirements are gathered. There are general questions that get answered during the assessment phase. A list of both the techinal and functional requirements is produced. The overall result is the solution as a whole and how it performs, not how it is actually going to work.
The Develop Phase is where the details of the solution are produced. Unit tests and system acceptance tests are done during this phase. Unit tests act on a specific piece of the solution while system tests act on the system as a whole.
The Implement Phase Once the integrated testing is complete, the solution is rolled into production with knowledge transfer and/or training taking place. Once the solution is operational, maintenance and support procedures are rolled out.
