BusinessObjects Performance Manager XI
BusinessObjects Dashboard Manager XI
In BusinessObjects Performance Manager XI, when attempting to refresh a metric or group of metrics, the following error message appears:
"Error: Cannot create query on repository for probe <name of the metric>: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server] Invalid object name '<name of relevant fact table, first object in SELECT statement>'".
The following actions have been performed to troubleshoot the issue:
- The universe was refreshed in Performance Manager. The measure objects show in the Available Objects box. Its SQL statement is correct.
- The universe integrity has been validated showing no problems.
- Clicking Setup > Tools > Check & Cleanup stated that the metric has expired and was never refreshed. After deleting and recreating it, performing this step returns the same result.
- A query with the metric universe using the metric measure was done successfully in Web Intelligence.
To resolve the error message
- Check that the native connectivity is working properly. For example, if the Performance Manger repository is on SQLServer, verify that the OBDC connection is properly defined.
- Open Designer. Add a secure connection using the datasource name defined in step 1.
- Go to Performance Management. Click Setup > System Setup > Repository.
- Click Change. Navigate to the connection defined in step 2.
- Confirm the selection.
The metric can now be refreshed successfully.
If the metric cannot be refreshed successfully, recreate the metric. The metric was not sent to the CI_PROBE table due to the corrupted Performance Manger repository connection.
