How TO CUSTOMIZE the default welcome page?

Long Solution:

1. Stop Cognos8 Services.
2. Navigate to C:\Program Files\cognos\c8\webcontent\skins\<Style>\portal. Right click default.css file and choose edit.
3. Search on the keyword ‘welcome’.
4. The following settings can be made to each Style:
5. Font-size
6. Background color
7. Padding
8. Height
9. White spaces
10. Location of new graphic
11. Make the necessary changes to each style heading
12. Start Cognos8 Services
13. Navigate to the tool bar in cognos8 connection and choose ‘My Preferences’
14. Change the style that you choose in step 2. Click Ok.
15. Open up another I.E. browser and type in URL to get to the welcome page.
16. Congratulations! You’ve just modified the welcome screen.
