Unable to Select a Corporate Dashboard as the Initial View in InfoView

BusinessObjects Enterprise XI R2

Synopsis

In BusinessObjects Enterprise XI InfoView, after clicking Select next to Corporate Dashboard on the General tab of the Preferences window, the Select screen appears blank.

Cause

This behavior is caused when an unsupported version of Java is used. BusinessObjects Enterprise XI and BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 2 (including Performance Management) only support Java version 1.4.2_X.

Solution

To resolve this behavior, install and run Java version 1.4.2_X on the Enterprise server as well as the client computer.

NOTE:
If Java 1.5 is installed on the computer, BusinessObjects Enterprise XI and BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Performance Management may not function as intended.
