Congressional Budget Office – Improved financial reporting by delivering new and enhancing existing reports to suit CBO’s unique reporting requirements, and by providing ongoing reporting application maintenance and performance optimization. CBO personnel now have ready access to financial information specific to their agency in a format that provides the necessary level of detail to support decision-making and subsequent actions, a distinct improvement over the standard reports CBO previously relied on which were generated by the Library of Congress’ Financial Reporting System.

Defense Logistics Agency

  • Improved customer support by providing insight into call center operations statistics through improved report format, generation, and distribution, thereby allowing DLA to pinpoint customer service issues and determine strategies for service improvement. DLA also benefited by eliminating paper-based processes and third-party analysis costs.
  • Enabled DLA managers and administration staff to more rapidly assess and respond to the extreme quantities of data (terabytes) being processed by DLA every day by providing analytic access to critical data via 300+ near real-time Crystal Reports. DLA personnel now have access to meaningful information on materiel procurement and management, sales and distribution, and cost and profit centers, and DLA has achieved yet another important milestone within their massive Business Systems Modernization effort.
  • Facilitated DLA’s ability to comply with Section 508 regulations by customizing all reports to be viewed and employed by users with disabilities (in addition to providing improved overall reporting capabilities).

FBI Academy – Integrated Crystal Enterprise with the Academy’s Learning Management System to enable Crystal Report requests to be submitted directly through the LMS application, providing necessary reporting capabilities in a web-based environment and addressing the FBI’s rigorous data security requirements.

Library of Congress – Converted all existing financial reports and analytics to Crystal Reports, and then converted massive amounts of data into a usable format in a single repository before integrating Crystal Enterprise with their new financial system to provide robust web-based reporting capabilities.

Military Sealift Command – Improved activation readiness and enabled identification of logistics issues, forecasting and usage analysis through implementation of business intelligence tools interfaced with numerous MSC data repositories. MSC can now use secure, web-based dashboards to readily identify material shortages, perform acquisition tracking, analyze requisitions, and track events related to emergency on-site care for U.S. combat forces.

Navy PERSCOM – Facilitated compliance with DoD reporting requirements through the implementation and customization of Crystal Enterprise. The new system allowed web-based data input directly into a previously paper-based DoD form, and all data entered in the reports is maintained in a central repository to eliminate reentry, thereby streamlining a multi-step, semi-manual, and error-prone process.

US Patent and Trademark Office – Quickly resolved work assignment report distribution problem by adapting report formats for optimal printing, then designed an improved Patent Workflow System based on Crystal Enterprise 9 to resolve report performance issues and streamline patent application assignment distribution to patent attorneys by eliminating paper-based processes.

Prince William County Public Schools - Integrated Crystal Enterprise and Crystal Reports with the organization’s financial application to provide efficient and effective reporting on critical information as needed by PWCS staff to respond to internal and external requests for financial performance information.

Stafford County - Developed a Crystal Enterprise-based shared-data solution to combine County property data which resided in disparate departmental databases. This enabled the County to generate accurate outputs and reports as needed, saving time and money by enabling separate departments to share current information, and reducing output, assessment and taxation mistakes.

Virginia Department of Alcohol Beverage Control – Enhanced reporting capabilities to meet new business requirements, increased availability of business reports to all agency staff and customers via browser access to the Intranet and Extranet, and improved report distribution functionality via email and exporting reports to other applications.

Metropolitan Atlanta Regional Transportation Authority (MARTA) – Implemented a stable, standardized enterprise reporting environment which provides a common location for end users to retrieve the information needed to make daily business decisions. The web-based reporting system is accessible to users throughout MARTA’s organization, and provides the capability to combine data from multiple applications into a single report for true enterprise reporting.

National Education Association – Facilitated the process of evaluating commercially available web-based business intelligence (BI) software products to replace the National Education Association’s existing enterprise reporting software with a solution that would provide robust data analysis and decision support based on data residing in existing systems and databases. Our guidance resulted in the selection of a business intelligence tool which will enable association executives and report consumers to view and communicate information in more meaningful and understandable ways, and provide the ability to securely access and report from multiple data sources. DMG is now assisting with the business intelligence tool implementation, maintenance, and training to complete the realization of their objectives.

Virginia International Terminals - Enhanced business intelligence and reporting applications for Virginia International Terminals (VIT), which operates three marine terminals and an inland port on behalf of the Virginia Port Authority, a state agency. This enabled VIT to more efficiently access and collaborate on reports, track usage of their reports and retire those that are no longer used, and extend the reporting to their leadership via a simple portal dashboard interface. VIT can also identify and track any container coming through the port facility and their customers can track their containers through the agency website, resulting in increased visibility into logistics and tracking and increased customer loyalty.

National Endowment for the Arts – Enabled large-scale report distribution and provided a secure interactive reporting environment for all report users through deployment of an enterprise reporting solution. Report consumers are now able to view standard reports over the Internet, gaining instant access to necessary information on demand. The nearly 1,000 individuals and organizations that are awarded new grants each year can view general information about their grants, and track the funding status and payments against those grants. NEA’s executive board members can access critical data formatted for ease of analysis, providing the insight necessary to effectively manage the organization.
